Emotional Baggage

Most of the time we're all just a bunch of mental and emotional defense mechanisms running around and bumping into each other. We’re all prickly and bruised. No wonder life feels hard... No wonder why so many of us are living as perpetrators or victims in the war zones in our minds. No wonder why these war zones get carried out into the physical world.

We live there so frequently that we have almost completely lost sight of who and what we are underneath all those devised mechanisms and their collateral damage. Ironically, knowing who you are before the mechanisms kick in makes all attack and defense unnecessary.

What if more people understood that? Who could we be, what could we do, without the 2 ton lead weight of emotional baggage our minds carry around with us all the time…? If our mental and emotional energy was not so acutely focused on attack or defense...? Man, that’s rich territory… Questions I will probably spend my entire life trying to answer.
