The adventure begins… (7 minute audio)

Introduction (written)

Hello, my name is Brianne and I am going to be your guide on a journey into creativity, intuition and inspiration. The adventure we’re going to go on is meant to be abstract, so don’t bother trying to make sense of it. Just let yourself experience it however you do.

My advice before going on this journey is find a quiet, comfortable space. If you’ll be listening, I recommend using headphones. If you are an artist perhaps have the tools of your modality nearby. If you don’t consider yourself an artist, you may at least want paper and pen handy or some other way to record what the experience was like for you once you’ve finished. Of course, you can just experience without trying to get anything else of out it if you want. It should be an interesting journey all on it’s own.

So, gather yourself and any things and let’s begin…

The adventures begins…

We’re going to go on a brief adventure. To do this it requires you to leave behind, just for a moment, all the things that you’ve already been. Forget that you are tied to this body. Let go of everything, everyone told you to be. Break ties with all the requests that life has made of you and that you have made of yourself. Undress from the suit made of you so you can try on new ways of being. Shrug off this world of matter and ideas and float in the space between all creations.

In this space, allow yourself to wonder…
What would it be like to experience yourself as living poetry?
What would your experience be like if you were a poem and looking out?
What would breathing be like?
What would be the rhythm of your verses?
Would your words flow and lines break where they will,
Or would you form yourself in rules of rhyme?
How clearly could you cut to the essence of life
If you were the precise knife of poetic truth?

What sounds would you be if you were nothing but music?
How would you move if you were melody on the air?
What if the steps of your walk were the beat, your body the tune?
How would you communicate if you could only talk in chords and harmonies?
What would you tell the world, how would you ask for what you need, if you were all the lovely and dissonant sounds of song?
Who would you invite into the dance of the timing of your voice?

What story would you tell if it were only color?
What shades and hues would hold you?
How would the light bend or shape or reflect you?
Would your interactions be vibrant and contrasting
Or would your saturations softly blend together?
Who would you be if you could only live as color?

And wonder now, wonder now, how would you be if you were the energy
Of inspiration itself?
What if you were the flow of creation weaving into and out of everything in existence?
What if you were the one that called forward something from nothing?
What would the force of you feel like?

Would you be a powerful rush making everything in life stand to attention in your presence? A delicate whisper intriguing and beguiling causing everything to strain it’s receptors to get the slightest touch of you.

What form would you take if you were inspiration? A hope. An idea. A wish. A comfort. A dream. A battle. A storm. A quenched thirst. A beautiful question. The phases of nature. The cry of humanity.

How would you wield your grace, your power, subtlety, charm, aggression and devastation? How would you move through time, space and matter?

And now, now that you’ve been exposed to these new ideas of you, come back. Come back to the here and now. Come back to this body, this breath, this world that you inhabit.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Take in the world around you and ask yourself, what did you see while you were away? What do you want to do with these new ideas of you? What can you take from this journey and apply to the here and now? From all of this, what action, or non action, is Life asking you to take?

Now, go forward and express yourself.
